Fourteen people, eight crews, and a rule that nobody is day labour. Everyone here is employed, trained and covered.
What the work is
It is physical, and the day ends
Most crews start at 7:00 am at the yard and are back by five or six. Summer is busy and you will feel it. Winter is steadier and we keep everyone on rather than cutting hours.
We are not interested in being the cheapest mover in San Diego, which means we do not have to be the worst payer either. Crews are employed, not subcontracted, and everybody is covered by workers compensation.

Licence funded
We pay for Class B training and the DOT medical for anyone who wants to move up to driving.
Overtime, not unpaid hours
Over 8 in a day or 40 in a week is paid at time and a half, which is California law and also just correct.
Boots and gear provided
Work gloves, back support, hi-vis and a replacement boot allowance every year.

Four positions on the board
The entry point. Two weeks of paid training on padding, shrink wrap, dollies and load securement before you touch a customer's furniture. No experience needed, but you will be lifting 50 lb repeatedly in July.
- Able to lift 50 lb repeatedly through a full shift
- Reliable transport to the Kearny Mesa yard for a 7:00 am call
- Comfortable talking to customers in their home
- Clean background check
You run the walkthrough, the plan and the paperwork. You decide the route for the awkward piece, you call the customer before the estimate is exceeded, and you sign the bill of lading at the end.
- Two years of household goods experience
- Confident reading and explaining a bill of lading
- Class B commercial licence preferred, we will fund it
- Calm with customers on a bad day
26 ft box trucks around San Diego County and occasional dedicated long-distance runs to Phoenix, the Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest.
- Valid Class B with clean record
- DOT medical card current
- Comfortable with a lift gate and backing into alleys
- Willing to take occasional overnight runs
Dish packs, void fill, custom crates and the patience to do a china cabinet properly. Trains under Alejandro, who will hear it if a carton rattles.

- Fragile packing experience helps, training provided
